I finally was able to paint on a canvas. I put the wooden frame together and pulled the canvas. After pulling the canvas I painted jesso on it so the canvas material would tighten so later I could paint on it. My canvas was 34x20 and I wanted to paint on it vertically. I decided to paint a blue roan cow standing in the tall grass. To give it texture I used modeling paste and mixed it with green acrylic. The cow was a dark, navy blue with tints of white and yellow. For the background I used oranges and yellows to give it a warm summer feeling. Also the oranges and yellows made the cow "pop". I wanted to make this cow look as real and make it look somewhat 3-D. I tried to get as detailed like Steel Cow.
